Our boys and girls in the senior classes have been proudly representing Drumbaragh N.S. in the Cumann na mBunscol GAA competition over the past few weeks.
We have played four matches so far, with two wins and two losses. The children have given their best in every game and are making great progress as a team, while having plenty of fun along the way!
A special mention must go to the many children on the team who had never played GAA before this year. They have thrown themselves into it and are doing themselves, and our school, very proud.
A big thank you also to Ms Gibney and Jimmy Connolly, who have been coaching and encouraging the team throughout the competition.
We have one group game remaining against Kilbeg next week, and then we’ll have to wait and see how the other results pan out. Whatever happens, it has already been a brilliant experience for the children.
Last year, our boys’ team won the competition outright for the first time in many years, so we’re still hopeful that we might get the opportunity to defend our title!
Best of luck to everyone in the final group game! 🏐
